Update June 2018: We are excited to welcome a new member to the Duxbury Beach team! Thanks to The Arc of Greater Plymouth, Duxbury Beach is home to a new beach wheelchair that features floats for those who want to enjoy the waves and a five-point safety strap. Anyone wishing to use the chair can request it from a guardhouse attendant at the Powder Point Bridge entrance. This incredibly generous gift will make Duxbury Beach more accessible to South Shore residents and visitors.
Visitors to the beach will also notice the addition of two mobility mats over the main pedestrian path at the Town Parking Lot. These were installed by DBR with support Emily Zoltowski of the Duxbury Commission on Disabilities. These Mobi-mats are on loan from Deschamps Mat Systems, Inc. to test this summer at Duxbury Beach. The Reservation is excited to continue to find ways to make the beach accessible to visitors and to spread the joy of a beautiful beach day to more members of the community!
